When God Answers Prayer

“Call to Me and I will answer you. I’ll tell you marvelous and wondrous things that you could never figure out on your own.” Jeremiah 33:3 (MSG)

If you want your personal prayer life to become dynamic, then you must get specific. General prayers get general answers. Specific prayers get specific answers, and nothing is more exciting than seeing God respond in answer to specific prayer! These are prayers that you document in your own personal prayer journal. Write them down and record what God does. They are measurable, identifiable, quantitative responses from God that have no other explanation! I believe God is waiting for us to ask specifically so that He can move in supernatural ways that will blow us off our blessed assurance and move us into the faith zone of a new dimension in our relationship with Him! I’m talking about God-sized prayers. In Psalms 2 God says,

Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession.” (Vs. 8)

Make your requests God-sized! Be audacious! Be specific! Record the date you asked and when He answers!

Like many of the prophets, Jeremiah experienced this firsthand. Despite being imprisoned in a city that was under siege and about to fall into the hands of an enemy, God challenges Jeremiah to call to Him and He would answer. When Jeremiah prayed, God did answer and began to tell him unsearchable things, remarkable secrets he did not know about things to come! Jeremiah would record those insights in his book. He predicted the destruction of Jerusalem and their subsequent captivity to Babylon where Jewish exiles would remain for some 70 years. He revealed the promise of God’s restoration, the return of exiles to Jerusalem, and the New Covenant that would be written in their hearts! There is no way Jeremiah could have possibly foretold these events but in answer to prayer. We have the record today because Jeremiah wrote it all down.

You may be facing an impossible situation with no solution in sight. You don’t know what to do.  God says, “Call to Me and I will answer you. I’ll tell you marvelous and wondrous things you could never figure out on your own.” When He does, don’t forget to write it down in your prayer journal. It will transform your prayer life and become part of your life message that demonstrates the power of God for generations to come!
