As Caleb wandered through the dessert with the rest of Israel for forty years, I’m sure he heard that small voice say, “Give up, you’ll never be back in the Promised Land.” But he spoke words of faith and truth.

“I am still as strong today as the day Moses sent me out. I’m just as vigorous to go out to battle now as I was then.” Joshua 14:11

In troubled times, I’ve got to be careful what voices I listen to. It is so easy to give into doubt. Negative words of unbelief and grumbling are delayed Israel from entering the Promised Land. A whole generation had to die out before the fulfillment of God’s promise took place. When I’m going through tough times, negative words, complaining, grumbling, and griping will box me in but God leads me in another direction. When I speak positive words of truth in faith, it blows the walls of the box down and I can continue to walk by faith and not by sight.

Just listen to this voice of truth from God’s Word. Romans 8:15 says, “For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by Him we cry, ‘Abba, Father.” In the Aramaic, the word Abba literally means daddy. Your heavenly Father will pick you up and hold you. Just keep listening to the voice of truth.
