The Sacred Gift

Life is a sacred gift, every second of it. The fact that you just took a breath is a divine gift from God, and it is reason enough to thank him. We forget what a precious gift this is because it seems so simple. But the most precious and profound gifts are usually the simplest. You see, we are often waiting for something great and extraordinary to happen before we get excited about life. We are kind of like some of you ladies with your fine china. You never get it out for regular family meals; it only comes out on special occasions. Each day of life God gives us is a short, sacred, and precious gift, that’s why it’s called the present. Consider each day a special occasion because you’re alive and you belong to God.

“Know that the LORD he is God; It is he that has made us and not we ourselves; we are his people and the sheep of his pasture.” Psalm 100:3
