The Great Mathematician

With God in the equation, nothing is impossible. Matthew 19:26 says “All things are possible with God.” He is the great mathematician who can multiply our efforts, just like he did with the loaves and fishes. This applies to all areas of our lives. When I give God the little bit of time I have and spend it with Him, it seems like He multiplies my day and I get so much more done. When I serve others and get my eyes off myself, God opens up doors of blessings. When I focus on the people around me and I do something for someone who can never do something for me in return, and no one will ever know it but God, it seems like God opens up doors of blessings again.

But before God can use me, many times I have to be broken. He has to allow me to be broken from my pride, thinking I can handle everything on my own, thinking I can come up with a solution. Some of you are going through a time of brokenness – maybe you’ve experienced a broken heart because of a broken relationship and your emotions have been shattered. Others of you have broken dreams that have been destroyed. Maybe it’s your self-esteem, as your business has taken a nosedive and for the first time in your life, something you attempted has failed. I believe with all my heart that God allows us to go through times of brokenness so that He can bless us. Brokenness always precedes blessedness. If you are at a place of brokenness right now, you are in a good place because blessing and maturity comes through suffering. He can’t use us when we have pride in our life, but when that pride is dealt with and we realize we can’t do it on our own, He fills us up with His strength and power. And He wants us to give Him all the glory and praise Him for what He continues to do.
