In Revelation Jesus said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” This is why we can sing and dance in the middle of trials. 2 Peter 3:13 says, “But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.” The Lord said, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:32-33.
David, the divine dancer, wrote “He has given me a new song to sing of praises to our God.” God wants to give you a new song of peace in the middle of the stress. English songwriter, Sydney Carter wrote a song containing these lyrics:
I danced on a Friday when the sky turned black
It’s hard to Dance with the devil on your back
They buried my body & they thought I’d gone
But I am the Dance & I still go on!
Dance, then, wherever you may be.
I am the Lord of the Dance, said He,
And I’ll lead you all, wherever you may be.
I’ll lead you all in the Dance, said He.
Do you know the Lord of the dance? He is Jesus Christ. Maybe today you feel like you can’t sing or dance so just take hold of Jesus and he will lead us all in the dance. Would you like to dance?
