Power of the Holy Spirit

In 2 Corinthians 1:2-4 Paul address God this way, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort…”

The Bible calls the Holy Spirit the Comforter. The word comfort in the Greek literally means to strengthen by being with. The Holy Spirit strengthens us by being with us. Whatever you walk through in life, He will walk through it with you. He’ll never leave you. Now in the Old Testament the Holy Spirit would come upon people, move people, anoint them, and then move away from them. The Holy Spirit in the Old Testament would come and go, but in the New Testament, when Christ ascended to Heaven, the Holy Spirit became a permanent part of our lives. He’s always with us and He’ll never leave us. If you are a believer, He is not just with you, He’s also in you. God’s Holy Spirit comes to live in your life to give you the power to live life. “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you…” Acts 1:8
