One Month to Love | Day 27

“Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; He’s the one who will keep you on track.” Proverbs 3:5-6 (MSG)

This passage reveals the most practical advice I know to keep your life on track. You will avoid the pressures and problems in life from derailing you as you meditate on its truth and practice its counsel. Read it out loud to yourself. Read it several times with emphasis on each phrase as though God were speaking it to you. Put it into practice by praying it back to God as the intention of your heart to follow. Now listen for what the Holy Spirit may be saying to you about the passage as you read it again. What does God want you to do as a result of reading it?

Read it through one more time out loud. It’s amazing to me how the Scripture has so many facets like a diamond. Each time I read it, the Holy Spirit seems to shed light on a different insight or application in my life. Begin to practice the truth of this passage in your everyday life, “listening for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go….”  Just as you anticipate Him to speak to you in your Lectio Divina, begin to practice the presence of God throughout the day.
