“I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from My Father I have made known to you.” John 15:15 (NIV)
How would you define your relationship with God? Ever wonder how Jesus defines your relationship to Him? Through your Lectio Divinas you are moving from an academic and perhaps impersonal relationship with God to an understanding that you are a vital part of His family and He longs to fellowship with you in an intimate and personal way. Satan desires to distort our view of God and redefine our relationship with God in an effort to limit our understanding of God and convince us that we are incapable of such a relationship with God. The truth is Jesus came to restore our relationship with God and allow us to enter into close communion with Him. How close? Read today’s verse out loud, slowly. Now read it again out loud and ask God what He is saying to you about the relationship He wants to have with you. Let the truth of what God says define your relationship with Him, not how you feel or what Satan would have you believe. Those are “false beliefs” and will forfeit you from enjoying the relationship with God that Jesus came to establish.
Now read the verse again out loud slowly and ask God what He wants you to do because of what you’ve read.
As you read the verse again out loud, relax in the refreshing confidence of who you are in Christ and all that God longs to make known to you!
