No Condemnation

Every person who says, “You know what, I don’t need Jesus Christ, I can get to heaven on my own. I’m pretty good, I’ve never killed anyone, I’m better than most people, I’ve done a lot of good things in my life. I think I should get into perfect heaven. I’ve been great.” Well, they’ll all line up before Jesus, and He’ll have the book of life in His hands, and then He’ll open up the book of life, and He’ll look for the names of each person. He will clearly show them that their name is not in the book of life; that they chose to try to get to heaven on their own. They made the decision that they didn’t need Him and His free forgiveness and grace. They want Him to allow them into His perfect heaven based on what they’ve done on this earth. Okay. Let’s see what they’ve done. Their whole life will be shown on the big screen. Every action, every word. Everyone will see they did a few good things, but every sin, every thought, every wrong motive will be shown on the big screens so that no one will have anything to say when it is all said and done.

We’re all sinners, and that’s why we need Christ. Now, some of you are in shock right now thinking about your life, your motives, everything you’ve ever done in secret, being shown on the big screens for all to see. The good news is, if you’re a Christ follower, you get to skip that one. Romans 8:1 says “therefore, there is now no condemnation for those in Christ.” When you say, “Jesus I can’t make it to heaven on my own, I need Your forgiveness. I’m not perfect, and heaven is a perfect place for perfect people, and I’m not, so thank You for taking my place in the judgment. I receive Your free grace and forgiveness.” When you do that, you become a Christ follower, and you get to skip that judgment. The good news is, we get to go right to heaven.
