“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven where moth and rust do not destroy and where thieves do not break in and steal for where your treasure is there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:19-21

If I really believe what I’m talking about here, then I will give all with everything to gain. It is not just risk all with nothing to lose, but it is give all with everything to gain. So, He’s not saying don’t store up for yourselves, it is wrong to store up for yourselves. No, He says you need to store up for yourselves, just don’t do it on this earth because it is not going to last. It is dumb. Store up for yourselves treasures in heaven. What He is saying is, you can’t take it with you, but you can send it on ahead. Every second, every dime that you invest in someone else’s life to make an impact in their life, everything you do that brings people to know Christ is going to last for all time, forever.

He’s just saying be smart, be a smart investor. Financial investors say don’t think about the next three years, think about the next 30 years. Invest for the next 30 years. Jesus is saying, that’s kind of dumb just investing for the next 30 years, invest for the next three hundred million years. You have all of these things on this earth, but then in the first 60 seconds in heaven, it all gets burned up, and you’ve got nothing. See, some people live in mansions down here. When they get to heaven, they’re going to live in a shack. It is okay to have a nice house. It is okay to have nice things, but are you investing in heaven? Are you doing anything with your one and only life that makes a difference for all eternity? Any of your time, talent, and treasure, you can’t take it with you. I’ve never seen a hearse pulling a U-Haul, but you can send it on ahead by investing it in the people going there. What things should you be storing in Heaven? Will you start doing that today?
