While it may appear that those who are dishonest get ahead, the Bible says, “the LORD rewards each man for his integrity….”
Our hunt for the One True God is a hunt for integrity. As truth, God is a God of integrity and only in Him can our souls find integrity.
The Psalmist expresses the longing of our soul for worship. We were created to worship. We will worship something or someone even if it isn’t God.
How important is fellowship in your life? Someone once defined fellowship as two people in the same ship. I like to think of it as two people on the same side of a struggle.
When we risk rejection and pursue connection, we will experience protection!
If we settle for belonging to this world, we will live from our own self centeredness that will eventually isolate us into a desperate loneliness. But God offers another option! To belong to Him!
Because we were created to belong, the Bible says we will either belong to this world or to Him.
God created man with the need for companionship, the need to belong to another like himself. Our souls long for belonging.
The Bible uses many metaphors to describe the church – the Bride of Christ, the family of God, the household of faith, a holy temple, and the body of Christ. Each description carries a deeper understanding of what the church is and does.
Like a pride of lions, our souls long to belong, to live in community with others, to experience relationship. Belonging is one of the Big Five in our God Hunt this week.
